1971 Datsun 240Z

This is almost certainly the lowest mileage original RHD UK supplied Datsun 240Z (HS30) left in the country and is the ultimate collector example. A one previous owner early series car with unrivalled provenance and history from new.
The uniqueness lies in the fact this is not a restored car and retains the integrity of 99% original rust free factory panelwork.

It was recently painted for the first time since new (only due to old coachlines and protective underseal painted on the lower areas that could not be removed with any chemical). The ground metal was found to be in almost perfect condition underneath aside from a couple of very minor repairs required to the rear arch lips and most of the original spot welds are still visible in this area to evidence the minimal work carried out.

I bought this car in 2020 from the original owner who had just turned 80 years old and could no longer drive the car. Garaged from new, the unbelievable low mileage of just 24, 000 is fully documented with much service history available together with many old MOT's and tax discs.

Mechanically the car runs the original stock standard L24 6 cylinder inline engine with twin Hitachi/ SU carbs which gave 150bhp and a 0-60 time of 8 secs which was very quick for a regular production car back in 1970.

The interior is untouched from new and in fantastic condition, ride height and suspension as it left the factory. A Stainless Steel upgraded exhaust has been fitted by marque specialists Fourways Engineering who have looked after the car in it's latter years.

The dealer supplied Wolf Race wheels with which almost all 240Z were sold with when new have been diamond cut and polished and are fitted with new tyres all round.

It has been used sparingly in my ownership but just enough to keep it in good running order. The most recent journey was a return trip of 300 miles from Devon to Goodwood on which it performed faultlessly.

This car should appeal to the discerning collector and really is a one off opportunity. You simply won't find another 53 year old UK supplied Datsun 240Z with this originality, history and provenance.
