This 1983 Rover 3500 SD1 Vanden Plas V8 has recently been imported by ourselves direct from South Africa where it's British car enthusiast owner kept it well serviced and mechanically in excellent shape. This is a desirable Series 2 model benefitting from the improvements and upgrades that were introduced from 1982.
The reason we import many cars from the dry hot inland region of South Africa is the far superior condition of the bodywork, chassis, undersides and all body panels comprising of all factory original steel, with no rust or welding ever been necessary and this stylish Rover SD1 does not disappoint in this respect.
The factory paintwork on this car is completely original, finished in black with a couple of faded areas to the front bonnet area which have been polished through over the years adding to the original patina finish.
The 3528cc V8 engine sounds fantastic and coupled to the Automatic gearbox gives a decent turn of speed when called upon whilst you are wafted along with the extra comfort and refinements that the range topping Vanden Plas model brought with it.
Odometer reads 148k km (92k miles) and although it is believed genuine and looks correct in terms of the overall condition, it is not fully documented by paperwork so must be taken as hearsay only.
Now UK registered, it is MOT exempt and has historic road tax exempt status as well.
