1983 VW Golf GTS Mk1

We have just imported this amazingly original Golf from South Africa

UK registered, MOT, Tax and ULEZ exempt

The GTS was a South African only model where it was the performance model of the range until the GTi arrived later in this year. It is very similar to the GTi with 1588cc engine but without the injection, using a Pierburg carb. instead.

This car had just one lady owner (a nurse) from new until it passed into the hands of a collector from whom we bought the car. The clock reads just 49,000km (31,000 miles) and although not documented, could reasonably be taken as genuine looking at the fantastic condition of the interior with very little wear commensurate with the low mileage.

It is still in original paint, no accident damage or repainted panels anywhere, just completely as it left the factory. No welding has ever been done and it is in an original condition that would rarely if ever be seen on a UK car of similar age due to the hot dry inland climate of origin.

Wheels are quality European BBS style alloys fitted with brand new Falken tyres which improve the look but the original wheels are also available with the car.

Newly serviced, it runs and drives as good as it looks, with the taught feel of a very low mileage car that has been used very gently and sparingly. This car could be easily used as an interesting and reliable daily driver to beat the ULEZ charge or just cherished as an occasional classic.
