1984 Alfa Romeo 'Alfa 6' 2.5 V6

1984 Alfa Romeo 'Alfa 6' 2.5 V6

£14,950.00

A unique opportunity to buy a super rare period big Alfa that was the executive flagship of the range back in the early 80's.

We have just imported this superb RHD survivor example from a collection in South Africa where it has seen the benefit of living in a hot dry climate over it's life. It has never been welded and comprises entirely of Alfa original steel the same as the day it left the factory.

Paintwork looks resplendent in its original colour of AR343 - Blu Olandese - Dutch Blue.

The grey leather interior is in commensurate condition and reflects the low mileage shown.

All brightwork and chrome is in fine condition.

The Type 119 was named the 'Alfa 6' for obvious reasons and this model was in fact the first car to use the then all new magnificent 'Busso' designed 2.5 litre V6 engine. It gave 158bhp at 5500rpm using a total of six Dellorto carbs, one for each cylinder!

Power steering, electric windows, central locking, electric door mirrors and a limited slip differential were all standard equipment as Alfa attempted to take on the executive car sector and was beloved by Italian politicians and mafiosi alike back in the day.

Only just over 12,000 cars were produced over the model's seven year lifespan and just 128 right hand drive examples were ever sold in the UK of which few if any survive today.

The six Dellorto carbs have just been tuned and balanced and consequently the engine is noticeably super smooth and with the ZF automatic gearbox performed well on a recent test drive.

Must be of interest to the serious Alfisti wanting something a little bit out of the ordinary, supremely rare and different. When did you last see one, let alone a car for sale.
