This is not another run of the mill import, but one of the very best original cars left anywhere and definitely the nicest example currently on sale in the UK.

A true 'collectors' condition car, never restored, as it left the factory in 1980, used sparingly and always garaged and well cared for by it's previous owner. He bought the car when it was just 18 months old and owned it for 43 years until we purchased it. So just a two owner car from new having covered a mere 63,000 miles (101k km) in that time. The words 'original and unmolested' never had more meaning, even the few minor stone chips present have never been touched up and with the faded 'Sport' decal on the rear about the only clue it is 43 years old, not 3 years old.

It really is as good as it looks in the photos. These are the cars that will appreciate most in value in coming years, like with antiques, buy the best original car you can find. Money can restore a car to better than new condition but it will never have the patina, character or appeal of a low mileage well cared for original.

It starts on the button and runs and drives impeccably with no rattles or squeaks or unwanted noises. We have owned and imported quite a few of these cars over the years and this has the smoothest quietest engine of them all with a gearshift to match.

The body is dent and ripple free and the original paintwork is in superb condition, no rust anywhere. The undersides of the car are equally impressive condition to match, completely solid, rust free and never welded.

The interior is in excellent condition throughout showing very little wear at all, no imperfections in the seats or upholstery, perfect door cards and dash.

The slight premium over an average example is well worth paying as you can't go out and buy another one in this condition every day of the week, cars of this quality and provenance are very rare to find.
